Concerned about the potential dangers exposed by a rare earth processing plant near her hometown of Sungai Ular in Pahang, award-winning filmmaker Tan Chui Mui got together with three of her equally famous filmmaker friends, Liew Seng Tat, Woo Ming Jin and Yeo Joon Han, to make a series of short films, aimed at raising awareness of this issue.

Fimmakers' Bio:
LIEW SENG TAT emerged as a young filmmaker with a unique comedic voice soon after he graduated from the Multimedia University. His short films won the top prizes at Malaysian Video Awards for 2 consecutive years. His 2007 debut feature ‘Flower In My Pocket’ film then swept multiple awards and prizes in numerous international film festivals. Armed with a child-like sensibility that reveals deeper truths than his simple stories let on, Seng Tat is regarded as one of the most promising filmmaking talents in Malaysia.
TAN CHUI MUI hails from Kampung Sungai Ular, Kuantan, is no stranger to International film festivals, having received numerous awards for her debut feature film Love Conquers All in 2007. She is a very productive short filmmaker, who had won big prizes in two prestigious short film festival in the world: Oberhausen Short Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand Short film Festival. She also had the honour to be one of the competition juries for Rotterdam, Busan and Vladivostok International Film Festival.
WOO MING JIN has the distinction of being the only Malaysian director to have his films screened in Cannes, Venice and Berlin Film Festivals, the three most prestigious festivals in the world. He was hailed by Variety magazine as a “brilliant, striking new voice on the East Asian scene” upon the release of his second feature film ‘The Elephant and The Sea’ in 2007, and his subsequent films have won more than 10 awards internationally.
YEO JOON HAN’s first love is music but, sadly, it is an unrequited love. So he practised Law, wrote copy and wound up an impoverished filmmaker. His first short film, “Adults Only”, won the Special Mention at the Venice Film Festival in 2006. Armed with a few other obscure awards, he wangled enough financing to complete his first feature in 2008. “Sell Out!” also got away with a prize from the Venice Film Festival and has travelled (without its director) to over 25 festivals. Since then, Joon Han has been spending the last 3 years trying to convince potential investors that his next film will have no artistic merit whatsoever.
