PCC #92: PCC Bonenkai 2011 with TED Talks - hosted by Anthony Blick and Gil Chavez.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's hard to believe, but 2011 is now coming to a close. Needless to say, it is a year that won't ever be forgotten by any of us, and Japan and the rest of the world look very different from December 2010, but another year is fast approaching. We will not be "forgetting the year" at this final PCC event of 2011, but focusing on positive and optimistic themes for the coming year and beyond.
For the PCC Bonenkai 2011, we will bring in some of the greatest presenters in the world thanks to TED Talks (
http://wwwted.com). We’ve selected some short but thought provoking TEDTalks to watch, discuss, and learn from. This event will be very interactive, so everyone will have a chance to talk with and work with each other. By the end of this TED Talks session we hope everyone will have a lot of new ideas as well as some fresh inspiration and motivation for the new year.
I will co-host the evening with long time PCC supporter, occasional presenter, and well respected professor, Gil Chavez. The Pink Cow will prepare the Burrito Bar, and we will also have door prizes and other surprises to make this an extra special night. So, be sure to invite a friend or two and RSVP as soon as possible!
TED is a small nonprofit devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. TED started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad disciplines that are collectively shaping the future. On TED.com, the best talks and performances from TED and partners are available to the world, for free. All of the talks are subtitled in English, and many are subtitled in various languages. These videos are released under a Creative Commons license, so they can be freely downloaded and shown.
