Come be a part of ISSI Carnevale 2012
FAQ:
What's Carnevale?
Well, if you don't know what that is by now, let me help you: Carnevale is a two-month long annual festival sponsored by the International Students and Scholars Institute of Northeastern University. We celebrate festivals from around the world including the regions of China, Italy, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, India, Persia, the Philippines, Turkey, Vietnam, Cambodia, and MORE! This facebook group is intended for people who are interested in being a part of the planning process; a separate group for the actual event will be created separately.
Do I need to be an international student to be a part of Carnevale?
NO! Last I checked, the United States was still a country and still appears on most maps of the world! Our goal is to reach out to as many international and domestic students as possible. We want to participate in cultural EXCHANGE, meaning the more countries represented, the merrier.
How can Student Groups Benefit from Being a Part of Carnevale?
Excellent question! Let's think about it: this committee's goal is to foster cultural exchange right? This is is accomplished because the ISSI attracts many international students to this committee who are already interested in learning about each other's cultures. Thus, this committee is your way to reach out to students who would be interested in coming to your programs. If you are a member of the committee (an active member that participates in other events as well as your own), and want to represent your student group, ISSI can in-corporate your event into the Carnevale calendar and thus increase your publicity by including the program in the brochure.
Another way student groups can benefit from Carnevale is by proposing an event for co-sponsorship. Please note, student groups should not turn to the ISSI as a means of alternate funding. All programs proposed under the ISSI can only receive a small amount of funding, not enough to sponsor an entire event.
