Facebook rolled out a new user interface on December 15th. It is called Timeline. Many of us think it is a much better interface because it allows you to share and show all of your posts and best moments in a single place. Previously, it was hard to find a post that you did 3 months ago. With Timeline, it is easy to find that post. Also, the look is much more professional and visually appealing.
However, as with all new things, there are a couple of things you need to set up to make your new Facebook Timeline profile work for you. You might feel a bit of hesitancy about making the necessary changes on your own and you only have until Dec 22nd to do it.
Tim McDonald and Jean Pickering have been using the new Timeline interface for several month now. We love it and want to help you setup your Timeline. Therefore, we are offering Hands On Help for those of you that would feel more comfortable having some help to make the necessary changes.
On, Wednesday, December 21st, we are setting up shop at: Panera Bread on Wacker - it has free WiFi, electric outlets & coffee/tea/soda/etc.
We will be available from 2:00pm until 7:00pm to help you with the following things.
- Starting the Timeline upgrade process
- Setting up your Cover (this is the banner at the top of your profile page)
- Checking your posts to make sure you display the posts you want to show & those you want to hide.
- Adding Life Events to your Timeline
- Setting up your history for your About page
- Checking your privacy settings to make sure they are set properly
This is an amazing deal, because for the mere price of $10, you can get the help of 2 of Chicago's experienced Facebook users and trainers to help you for an hour.
You will need to bring a WiFi enabled laptop with you.
