We are meeting at Smith Park (corner of Amite and Congress) at 10am, then walking to the Capitol to deliver a Declaration of Concerns to the Mississippi Legislature.
Bring your organizations, bring your movements, bring your voices, bring your ideas, bring your anger, bring your questions, bring your signs, bring your family, bring your co-workers, tell your local council members and representatives. This is a time for all of us spread out Mississippians to come out in support of The OccupyJackson group and the Occupy Movement- a movement of knowledge and conversations and unification, all meant to bring about the change that we as the 99% feel is crucially necessary. We are all frustrated - we are all confused. We all know things that some one else doesn't. We all have questions that need to be answered. We all have ideas that no one has a chance to let the powers-that-be hear. Come out. We, as OccupyJackson, offer our support to other movements and individuals by allowing them to voice their concerns and tell their stories. Some members will agree with others. Some will not. Our community invites respectful conflicts of interests - this is where solutions are found: By finding problems that are affecting everyone, and doing our best to let our government know. Come join us.
(OccupyJackson is not, nor will be, affiliated with any political party and/or political organization. We are and will remain nonpartisan. This is very important to understand. Support from our members and activism is encouraged. However, we also encourage putting labels aside and basing conversation around personal beliefs on specific topics.)
Also, we will remain at the Capitol until everyone has a chance to be heard!
No real time limit.
We will be "people's mic-ing" each other.
:)
