For the last twenty years we've seemed to be on the precipice of living in the age of the Jetsons; seeing the death of the newspaper; and having our televisions serve us a beverage almost, but not entirely, unlike tea.
But now (and not just because it's the beginning of the New Year) is the time. 2012 is the year that Moore's law, changing demographics, and a volatile political and economic environment will converge in unexpected ways. I'm pretty sure the Mayans are wrong about the end of the world, but I'm equally sure that 2013 will find us in a very different world.
