Kamehame Ridge (Nearly) Full Moon Walk
Saturday, January 7, 4:15pm
Meet at 4:15pm at the top of Kamehame Drive - see map at
http://tinyurl.com/4e8unp4 (green balloon A). At 4:25pm, we'll start walking UP the steep, paved, potholed 1.5+ mile roadway to the top of Kamehame Ridge. The grade is similar to the climbs up to the Makapuu Lighthouse and the Ewa rim of Hanauma Bay. We'll enjoy the moonrise from the top at 5:01pm (azimuth 67 degrees), and the setting sun on the way back down. The full moon is on Sunday, January 8.
Park safely and LEAVE NOTHING VALUABLE/VISIBLE in your car! Wear GOOD walking footwear, and bring a FLASHLIGHT, water, snacks, windbreaker / rain jacket, camera, tripod, and good cheer!
Dinner afterwards at Cha Cha Cha Salsaria (green balloon B on map) around 6:30pm.
