Spoke Art Gallery is pleased to announce The First Annual Supersonic Electronic Invitational, a group exhibition of new works by sixteen established and emerging artists, curated by Zach Tutor. Though diverse in their visions and mediums, this group of artists collectively embodies the spirit and urgency of today’s most imaginative creators. Curator Zach Tutor describes the set as “sixteen beacons of true, unfiltered light for the future of the art world, giving promise to the wonderful idea that the world is on the brink of another Golden Age of art.”
With diversity serving as the foundation for its continuity, Supersonic Electronic unites artists in a way only possible in the 21st century. New technological platforms allow today’s artists to share ideas, form communities, and forge ahead with unprecedented connectedness. This rings true for artists Joao Ruas and Sam Wolfe Connelly, whose depiction of the fantastical share mysterious and melancholy sensibilities. Modern-age interconnectedness shines through in the works of Michael C. Hsiung, Mike Mitchell, and Scott C. as their humorous and witty takes on contemporary culture offer a fresh prospective on urbanism and creativity. This group exhibition showcases Supersonic Electronic’s own take on expression in the digital-age, and acts to further blur the lines between fine art and illustration.
