The Third Annual New York Winter Society Ice Ball
on Thursday, the nineteenth day of January, MMXII Anno Domini
at seven until nine post meridian
upon the grand ballroom* of the Pond at Bryant Park
Do please invite your consorts, cohorts, and concubines.
Location: The Pond at Bryant Park
Followed by refined raucous at the Russian Vodka Room.
If you attire yourself in the rags of the common man you have pause to question of yourself with what reason you are even attending the Ice Ball. Don't be half-assed!
Dresscode - Formal†
- Gentlemen: White tie (tail suit) preferred; black tie ("tuxedo") also good; business suits acceptable.
- Ladies: Evening Gowns (plus something to keep the shoulders warm; think warm elbow length gloves, cashmere wraps, fur (genuine or faux) stoles, muffs and Boyarka hats - think Siberian Chic)
† or at least the appearance thereof to the public eye.
Please RSVP and hope to see you on the ice!
Note Well: Bring a pair of ice skates or pay $14 to rent. Bring a lock for your locker - otherwise it's $9 to purchase one.
*Please don't show up asking where the ballroom is, as some did last year. We'll see you on the ice! If you are puzzled by the nature of this event read this primer:
