Do a search for El Papachango online and you’re not going to find much. A MySpace page that hasn’t been updated for years, maybe a couple links to flyers, and a few mentions of the enigmatic performance collective, El Circo. Not much else comes up. The man behind the DJ, Diego Novoa, is tough to pin down simply by looking him up on the internet, and he probably likes it that way. Shameless self promotion just ain’t his style. Creating sets of music that transport dancers to raw, instinctual levels of physical celebration is his style. Just ask anyone who’s been blessed with some dancefloor time in front of the legendary El Papachango.
