This is a cut and paste with valuable information from the gourmet weekend trip:
If you're interested, please let me know if you have a strong preference for which meal you'd like to take on (i.e. Saturday Breakfast, Saturday lunch, Sat dinner, Sunday Breakfast, or Sunday Lunch). Since there are only 5 meals to choose from and we expect around 15 people to join.. Three people will be preparing three different dishes for each meal. Between the three dishes we need to be able to feed 15 people at least. If you have no preference for a meal assignment and feel confident you can take on any of the meals, I'll randomly assign you one :)
The trip leader will not be buying the groceries for the trip as usual (except water). Each participant will have to bring the groceries they need to make their meal. If you're not sure how much food you need to bring, just think about how much food you need for yourself to last you a weekend.. if everyone does that, it'll work out just fine.. Please don't cancel last minute because that will lead to mass starvation, riots, and to the cabin being burnt down!
If you've never been to the cabin, what you need to know:
- The cabin is heated by a fireplace.. after a couple of hours it's really nice and toasty in there.
- We have a stream near by that we get water from for washing. We buy our drinking water.
- There are single mattresses at the cabin but you need to bring a bed sheet to cover them and sleeping bag or blanket.
- Bring slippers for indoors.
- Bring a flash light
- Bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty while hiking/caving.
- You have to let us know if you want to bring pets.
- Bathroom is an outhouse outside. We have toilet paper at the cabin.
- BYOB
Finally, if you're totally sold, please get back to me ASAP with:
0) Which days you'd like to go for. (Monday to Sunday or just from Friday night)
1) Meal preference
2) If you have a car and how many people you can fit? Subway station where you prefer to meet your passengers? Can you leave Friday night (preferred) , or Sat morning?
3) Contact phone number, and emergency contacts.
4) Have you ever been to cabin before?
5) Roughly which area in the city you live in for car pooling.
We'll be back in the city on Sunday 5-6pm.
