Entitled "The City", it showcases the octet’s high-spirited melodies & off-beat lyrics atop a driving rhythm section, jangly guitars, warm four-part vocal harmonies, and dynamic horn section. The songs speak of youthful exuberance, friendship, courtship, hardship, reconciliation with adulthood, and the poetry of everyday life. Its backdrop: San Francisco.
For this hometown release, THE 21ST CENTURY will be joined by coheadliners and SF favorites, The Blank Tapes. The night will also feature two of the finest bands in the Bay: Mark David Ashworth and The Beehavers.
