Reflecting on the global impact of social media and its role as a catalyst in driving cultural, political, economic and social change, Social Media Week’s theme in February 2012 will focus on Empowering Change through Collaboration.
We're asking you to explore how social media is changing governments, businesses, entertainment and organizations around the world and we want you to get involved.
Help us to examine how new forms of collaboration have drastically changed the way in which we gain knowledge and share information.
Discover how deep our empathy extends for those around the world as we reflect on events like the Japanese tsunami, the Horn of Africa famine and the global support of revolutions. Hear speakers like Jermaine Dupri, Don Tapscott, Michael Graves, and Cindy Gallop. Watch as one Londoner and Singaporean swap cities for a week, attempting to get by on social media only. Take part in a crowdsourced jam session or digital foosball.
Registration opens January 17th globally. Join us, and our global headline sponsor Nokia, this February- locally and globally- as we Empower Change through Collaboration!
