In October of 2011, 25 people participated in this class and indicated a desire to become involved with Jay Hamburger in providing food for the homeless. Since 1990, every Sunday for 2-3 hours he has taken donated food to sites throughout downtown where homeless people congregate. The original reason for this class was to get more people involved. Now, with prodding from those people, Jay wants to grow the movement to end hunger and homelessness in Houston and beyond. As he put it, "think big." This class is designed to pick up where the other one left off. The goal is to have at least 125 people participate. Be prepared to share your ideas on this goal. NOTE: Bring a clipboard and consider staying after class for 2-3 hours to help with the day's outreach. Jay Hamburger, a Houstonian since 1950, is a freelance photographer and photographic artist. He has driven in the Art Car Parade, taken pictures here and in the Middle East and traveled extensively throughout the world.
