“Hell Yeah/Hell Nah is about decision making and your guts. More importantly, it is about a certain uneasy feeling in your guts when choices are made. Much of my work is influenced by the gut instincts and acting on what feels right. This choice is often made even when I am aware of the possibility that it could blow up in my face. I am interested in the theory that these ‘gut feelings’ are most likely influenced by information stored in our subconscious that informs our cognitive process. I am exploring the spaces between “Hell Yeah” and “Hell Nah” to find a balance. However, this process is not cautious; it relies on trial an error. The immediacy I value in this decision making is made evident in my handling of materials which are direct and often loose.”
