The 17h Annual Kate Wolf Music Festival [KWMF], takes place June 29th, 30th & July 1st, at the beautiful Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville, California. It is one of Northern California’s most loved summer events and has been called “the best, the single best festival.” We are very pleased to announce a Sneak Peek of the initial confirmed performers and Early Bird priced tickets on sale now thru March 20th. Tickets can be purchased online at
www.KateWolfMusicFestival.com
MUSICIANS on the Sneak Peak roster include: KWMF debut k.d. lang and The Siss Boom Bang, whose blend of country-rock styling’s and playfully punk-like attitude has earned them a worldwide following; Lucinda Williams, known as “America’s Best Songwriter” and “one of the sharpest, most uncompromising singer-songwriters of any gender”; Grammy Award Nominee Marcia Ball, with her “spicy, Texas-Louisiana blues, rock ‘n’ roll, boogie woogie”; The Brothers Comatose, foot-stomping, shout-along, drink-along, sonic-gumbo; Colorado’s legendary Leftover Salmon, with their unmistakable, fluid, loose-limbed, and simultaneously rootsy and daring sound; critically acclaimed songwriter Richard Thompson, named one of Rolling Stone Magazine's “Top 20 Guitarists of All Time”; the Texas Tornados, the ultimate Tex-Mex super-group; Bluehouse, one of Australia’s premier independent folk/pop bands; the Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, a hybrid of Americana, folk, rock, bluegrass, and that sweet, old country & western; festival favorite Poor Man’s Whiskey, and their high octane “Hootenanny" music. Plus many more acts to be announced.
The festival is just a three hour drive north of San Francisco and two hours south of Arcata. Boosting a large stage in the Main Music Meadow plus three other intimate stage areas, workshops, kids’ area, premier onsite camping, food court, music jamming area, and flowing creek, makes the annual KWMF a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a weekend with friends, family, and lovers of great music. Black Oak Ranch is home to the Hog Farm and Camp Winnarainbow-a circus camp for kids and has hosted many world-class events over the years including Earthdance – The Global Festival For Peace. KWMF has garnered a reputation as a “destination festival” for music lovers with its extensive grounds covering approximately 150 acres. This is a “green festival” and the event is powered by biodiesel generators.
