Starting and managing a small business requires a strong operational foundation. The day-to-day operations of any small business entails the following components: 1) Talent Recruitment, 2) Marketing and Sales, 3) Technology, 4) Finance and Legal, 5) Customer Support, and 6) Healthy dosage of organizational culture. In this workshop, the speakers will highlight the ongoing challenges encountered in the day-to-day operation of a small business.

Michelle King, SBDC Director
Michelle has a diverse business background with experience in commercial lending, budgeting and forecasting, non-profit management and public accounting. She has experience as an instructor of Accounting and Finance. Michelle holds an MBA in Finance and a BS in Accounting.
Anita S. Katzenbach, Senior Management Consultant, Project Manager, Organizational Change Professional
Holds a MS degree in Organizational Psychology, she specializes in connecting corporate planning to organizational strategies and global sustainability. Her experience includes 15 years of consulting and leadership positions in various for profit and nonprofit organizations. She has co-developed curricula for the “Global Sustainability Certificate” and taught classes with focus on the economic dimension of sustainability as well as on organizational change for sustainability at UCLA Extension.

Note: This workshop is the first in the Small Business Breakfast Series (SBBS), coordinated by Pepperdine's Graziadio Alumni Network of Los Angeles (GAN LA), in association with the Los Angeles Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and sponsored by Identify Solutions. The goal of these events is to provide valuable and relevant information for local small business owners, managers, or entrepreneurs in a workshop-like setting.
