Have you ever read a book that inspired you? Read a book that brought tears to your eyes? Read a book that got you to take action? Read a book that turned your life inside out?
Have you ever given someone a gift? Someone you don’t know? For no reason but to inspire them? And just to PAY IT FORWARD? Well. Here’s your chance.
Flash Mobs are a large group of people who gather “spontaneously” in a public place, perform an unusual act then quickly disperse. The purpose of this Book Reading Flash Mob is to create an awareness of the Pay It Forward Organisation and the work that they do globally, as well as the impact that books have on our lives. Having it at an odd time helps create the element of surprise for those not participating.

WHAT TO BRING: Bring along a book that has inspired you, kept you company during a long journey, brought tears to your eyes, or really got you to think about things in a different light. Maybe it’s a novel that touched you in a special way. Any book you wish.

MEETING PLACE - Cafe Ritazza in the station
Arrive before the starting time mentioned above so that you can make arrangements to collect 2 official Pay It Forward bracelets from the meeting place, as well as the flyer explaining what is going on - this flyer will be placed inside your book of choice. At the starting time, 3 people wearing Top Hats (or other recognizable hats) will enter The Flash Mob Zone and sit down and begin reading books. At this signal, come and join them, sit down and take some time to reflect on the book that inspired you. During this time, reflect on how a random act of kindness has the potential to change someone’s life and how you can be a part of a global movement of change.
After an allocated time, and as signaled by the people wearing the Top Hats, you will disperse and either swap your book with someone else who has attended the flash mob, or you will pass it on to a complete stranger, along with the additional bracelet you have collected from us, knowing that the note you have inserted inside the book explains everything that they need to know.
