LATISM Houston Chapter Kick Off & Social Media Panel Join Latinos In Social Media (LATISM), the largest organization of Social Media Professionals of Hispanic Origin, as we Officially Kick-Off and Welcome the new LATISM Houston Chapter to the City of Houston.  LATISM is a membership-driven nonprfit organization that seeks to empower Hispanics through the power of social media by creating opportunities to network and learn from one another.  This year, our National LATISM Conference will be held here in Houston.   Come meet LATISM and get involved as we prepare for LATISM 2012!  As part of this Official Kick-Off and Welcome, LATISM Houston Chapter will also offer a FREE panel with local Social Media professionals already successfully engaged in Social Media.  Our Social Media Paenl includes Joey Guerra, pop music critic for the Houston Chronicle; Vanessa Astros, vice president and brand ambassador for the global PR agency, Fleishman-Hillard; and Sara Patterson, nationally recognized founder and editor of the mommy blog MommaFindings.com, as well as Chapter Directors for the new LATISM Houston Chapter.   About The Speakers   Joey Guerra - As the principal pop music critic for the Houston Chronicle, Joey Guerra has successfully built a growing network of followers online, which include over 3,600 Twitter followers and more than 2,300 Facebook friends.  Joey can regularly be found online hosting live chats and interacting with his readers on everything from *American Idol* to life as an adoptive father.  Joey's success in social media has been such that he is now a regular on local newscasts and in nationally syndicated print publications. Vanessa Astros -  In her role as vice president at the global communications firm, Fleishman-Hillard, Vanessa Astros is responsible for building relationships between her clients' brands and U.S. Hispanic consumers through social media.  Vanessa works directly with national brands to identify potential marketing/social media influence opportunities and connects these brands to the right social media influencers who can carry a campaign to fruition.      Sara Patterson - A full time mommy blogger in her own right, and the founder and editor of a growing network online, which includes the mommafindings.com website, and over 5,400 followers on Twitter alone, Sara Patterson is the epitome of a successful blogger in the very lucrative mommy bloggers industry.  Sara can be found online interacting with her readers and followers and has been featured in various national websites, as well as local television stations for her success as a social media maven.   This event is FREE and OPEN to the public.  Refreshments and light snacks will also be provided.   For more information contact juanofwords@gmail.com
