Marilyn McGowan is the founder and CEO (Chief Exploration Officer) of Uncharted Journeys, a unique adventure company offering innovative, inspirational, life-changing travel experiences for women of all ages who are seeking to discover themselves and the world around them.
A lifelong non-athlete, Marilyn discovered the real “high” associated with stepping outside of one’s self-imposed comfort zone and accomplishing a seemingly unachievable goal when she first reached the top of Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States, in 2001. Since then, in addition to climbing all of the highest mountains in Southern California, she has summited 19,340’ Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
