An original dance/theater evening created and directed by Katie Elliott and Jim LaVita in collaboration with electronic media artist Darwin Grosse.
Authentic Re-Production, a paradoxical concept, draws on a number of oppositions noteworthy in our daily cultural life: the real vs. the imagined, the transparent vs. the mystifying. The contrast of the live body against the projected image drives the choreographic structure—neither is more real than the other, but both contribute to the message that we should always question what claims to be authentic and ask: As opposed to what?
