Inspired by Doomtree's celebrated eight-night stand at the First Avenue Mainroom, Dylan Hicks and the Toughies will perform two sets over the course of one night at the Red Stag Supperclub.
Hicks, playing an instrument once dubbed a "sweet red keyb" by a professional audio engineer, will be joined by the intimidating but essentially goodhearted Toughies: guitarist Terry Eason, bassist James Everest, drummer Erik Mathison, and honorary Toughie Brian Tighe.
The group will perform all of the forthcoming "Dylan Hicks Sings Bolling Greene," a companion album to Hicks’s debut novel, "Boarded Windows," in bookstores this May. As if that weren’t enough—and contractually, it isn’t—Hicks and his Toughies will play some even more recently penned songs, and a handful of old ones, some nearly old enough to drink.
