These are challenging times for anyone seeking creative solutions to business problems, whatever their area of work. It is said that we are drowning in information and starved of knowledge. Everything is in a state of flux. Processes that have worked for years are becoming irrelevant; tried and tested structures are crumbling; 'best practice' only speaks to past successes and won't necessarily produce the best results now. We are constantly challenged to think on our feet, be original, and act quickly.
Creativity is the key to sustainable success.
We need to develop a creative culture and hone our intuition. Open innovation is beginning to flourish as the 'silo' mentality breaks down and organizational boundaries blur, opening up a wealth of collaborative potential. It has already proved invaluable for major corporations and others who understand that the best creative solutions emerge from discussion, brainstorming, strong relationships and collaborative thinking.
So, I'm creating a community for 'open inspiration' where members can share great ideas, processes and practices in the world of work. Air your thoughts, pass on inspirations, de-stress and resolve challenges creatively at a monthly MeshUp, here in Vancouver.
The Vancouver MeshUp is a diverse, dynamic, safe, inclusive and confidential environment where invited business professionals can:
• brainstorm
• present, discuss and receive support
• benefit from creative inspirations
• share processes and ideas
• stimulate new vision
• re-kindle passion and confidence
MeshUps will run from 7pm to 9.30pm on the first Thursday of the month and will feature a themed presentation* (20 minutes approx.), followed by Q+A (30 minutes approx.) and break-out group discussions (60 minutes approx.), and ending with coffee and networking.
