24 year old Manchester beatsmith Star Slinger has shot to worldwide recognition in a startlingly short amount of time.
He has already been named by the Guardian as "best new act of the year by miles", with his recent track Mornin' one of the most popular songs across music blogs the world over. He counts the likes of DIPLO, Jamie XX, Donald Glover and Benji B amongst the fans of his melodic, chopped up beats, with pitched up soul vocals sliced around complex drum machine patterns and swathes of vintage synths.
His rogue re-workings of the Cocteau Twins and Nicki Minaj are perfect examples of his talent for completely transforming the mood and tone of the original source.
The talent didn’t go unnoticed and SS has since officially been hired to remix notorious acts. The list includes none other than Gold Panda, Childish Gambino, Broken Social Scene, The Go! Team & The Morning Benders.
With 2011 already offering Teams vs. Star Slinger - 12” (on Brooklyn’s finest Mexican Summer label), a Sold Out 7” & a self-released EP (Rogue Cho Pa) - Slinger is touring the UK / EU and beyond, rocking dancefloors and winning eardrums the world over.

ABX (pronounced like three consecutive letters) and STV SLV (pronounced “steve sleeve”) are collectively known as The Hood Internet. For the past five years, the duo have been chewing up the indie, pop, rap and R&B landscapes and spitting out pure fire. Like laptop-armed alchemists, they draw from their expansive interest in the many faces of modern music and re-imagine songs for mass public consumption through thehoodinternet.com.
Nearly 500 mixes and literally millions of free downloads later, The Hood Internet continue to ricochet across North America like an Arkanoid ball, bringing their arsenal of reassembled tracks to crowded dancefloors. And the dance parties have definitely been ignited in every city they roll through, not to mention holding it down at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, SXSW, CMJ, Pitchfork’s #Offline, Mad Decent Block Party, and Camp Bisco.
Having connected with so many musicians over the past few years, ABX and STV SLV are putting the finishing touches on an album of completely new material–but in the spirit of Hood Internet’s fantasy-sports-league stylistic collabos, the album is bringing together many different musicians from as many different walks of sound, to create a modern collaboration made possible by the speed of the Real Internet.
In the meantime, there are always new mixes and mixtures on the way from The Hood, with original works and remixes filling the spaces in-between. A compilation of remixes and original production work dropped in December via NYC clothing label Mishka. And so much more music on the way! All eyes on the Hood.

Chris Shively aka Chrissy Murderbot is a Chicago-based DJ/producer in love with booty-rave-jungle-house-bass-bashment-ghetto-garage-core. He’s the man behind the forward-thinking dance label Sleazetone Records, as well as the now-legendary jungle label Dead Homies Recordings and the new booty music label Loose Squares. Additionally, he runs the mixtape blog My Year of Mixtapes.
Since getting started as a DJ in 1995, he’s played at over 500 events in 20 countries. Chrissy has done official remixes for Theophilus London, Far East Movement, Machinedrum, Delorean, Lemonade, Warrior Queen, Hakan Lidbo, Hostage, CZR, Waxmaster, Norrit, Ward 21, Beta SP, Johnny Moog, Larytta, Top Billin, and others.
