Stuart Davis (Boulder) 5:30
14 albums into his career, Davis is a pillar of the showbiz carnival. Dublin's Irish Times: "Lurking amid the minutiae of his observations on life and the Universe are some startling insights. Davis pulls off the most elusive of party tricks...Even the gods were grinning."

Dana Falconberry (Austin) 5:00
Hailed by the Austin Chronicle as one of the city's "most promising singer-songwriters" and "most arresting female vocalists," her newest release, Though I Didn’t Call It Came, celebrates, explores, and at times laments the vast landscapes in which they are set.

The Loom (Brooklyn) 4:30
This buzzed-about band was recently featured as part of Paste Magazine’s “Best of What’s Next” series, chosen as a "World Cafe Next" band by WXPN, and called a “next big thing” by the New York Times. Daytrotter writes that The Loom “makes us believe that they’re the fathers and mothers of our cold and jagged memories, those that may or may not even be our memories for they feel so distant.”

Michael Garfield (Austin) 4:00
Michael weaves guitar, voice, effects, sound system, and audience into a greater instrument ecstatically playing itself. New to ATX, he has gigged with guitar legends (Tim Reynolds, Fareed Haque) and electronic pioneers (Random Rab, That 1 Guy) alike. You won't see it coming – unless you visit his website first:

Rogue Valley (Minneapolis) 3:30
Led by songwriter Chris Koza, Rogue Valley makes music that fills a dynamic spectrum, from surging electric guitar rock to woodsy finger-picking ballads. With grandiose ambition, they released four full length albums in 2011, each one sonically steeped in the season of its creation.

Luke Redfield (Portland) 3:00
This vagabond folkie has lived and performed just about everywhere in the northern hemisphere, telling of his travels through song. His sophomore LP Tusen Takk (due out SXSW) features members of Peter Wolf Crier, Bon Iver and Andrew Bird's band. An expert at collaboration and humanitarian efforts, Redfield recently served as executive producer for Minnesota Remembers Vic Chesnutt, a tribute record praised by American Songwriter and No Depression.

The Devil Whale (Salt Lake City) 2:30
In 2011 alone, The Devil Whale took the stage over 100 times in 26 states, playing alongside bands such as The Head & The Heart and Thao + The Get Down Stay Down. Their latest release, Teeth, has been hailed by KEXP as “an impressive set of well-crafted folk-pop steeped in ‘60s psych-pop & ‘70s folk-rock." Their song "Golden" was recently featured as song of the day on KUT.

Gabriel Douglas of The4onthefloor (Duluth) 2:00
Having shared the stage with Lucinda Williams, the Drive-by Truckers, and Willie Nelson, Gabriel Douglas is an artist on the rise, both as a solo performer and as frontman of stompin' roots-rock madmen, The 4onthefloor. Mark Suppanz of The Big Takeover says "(Douglas) effortlessly toggles between a whiskey-fueled, gravelly drawl and a stimulating, larynx shredding bellow...stripping it down to a solo affair, he is bringing the fire that stirs inside him."

Me & My Arrow (Minneapolis) 1:30
"This is the best live show i have seen on tour: 8 people, all singing at once, playing the hell out of their respective instruments, while being crammed onto the small stage at the Doublewide in Dallas...I almost blew up. I love this band. I love their music. I love their show. I love all of the members...Minneapolis never fails to provide great music and great people...god damn right." -Astronautalis

Abandoned Warehouse (Austin) 1:00
Forgotten in the reaches of an echoed past, drifting through the broken windows of concrete alleyscapes unable to shelter even their own ghosts, Abandoned Warehouse strings together spacious tunes sounding like a half frozen Bob Seger conducting the Flaming Lips.

Sleep Study (Minneapolis) 12:30
“...The new vehicle for gifted songwriter and storyteller Ryan Paul (formery Ryan Paul and the Ardent), and if ’60s throwback pop song “Flower Girl” is any indication they’ll be a band to watch in 2012.” -89.3 The Current (NPR)

Western Motto (Austin) 12:00
Trying to grab the world by it's dusty bootstraps, Western Motto is a three-piece piano based band that endlessly searches for a fresh musical and emotional experience. Western Motto pushes the listener to get lost in the colorful, vibrant, and varying sound; and lost in their head. This can often lead to uncontrollable dancing. Or crying. Either way, you feel better after the experience.
