More about the bands:
AGENT RIBBONS:
http://agentribbons.bandcamp.com/
Agent Ribbons isn't just a band--it's a tree house club of post-feminist dreamers trying to find their place in the scheme of things, like a hand-sewn and lovingly-crafted garment in a modern, disposable world. Listening to everything from Eartha Kitt to The Velvet Underground and taking notes from bands like The Shaggs, The Boswell Sisters and The Zombies, they miraculously reconcile seemingly-unrelated genres, sounding something like Girls in the Garage doing the Three Penny Opera. Waxing sentimental over the eerie beauty of all things lost to time, the emphasis is undoubtedly in the lyrics, which favor clever turns of phrase and occasional humor, but never at the expense of the melodic integrity of their catchy, memorable songs.
THE HAPPENING
www.thehappening.bandcamp.com
The newest incarnation of The Happening embraces the sound of ’90s indie pop and rock with a light-hearted garage twist. Taking a minimalist approach to songwriting, Em Brownlowe and current drummer Brookes Regenhardt manage to create a full sound through layered vocal harmonies, dynamic guitar layouts, and smartly arranged drums. Think early Liz Phair and post-Blake Babies Juliana Hatfield. Think fellow Portland bands Heatmiser, Hazel, and Quasi. Or think icons like Cat Power or PJ Harvey. The Happening is no mere throwback band, however. There’s an urgency and intensity that pours out of Brownlowe’s scratchy guitar chords, and the harmonies that she and Regenhardt weave through every song are scintillating and timeless.
COASTING:
http://coasting.bandcamp.com/
Madison Farmer and Fiona Campbell met in Brooklyn a few years ago; both of them were putting on DIY shows and active in the New York underground. That activity has not abated: Coasting has already toured both hemispheres, issued quite a few (now out-of-print) 7" singles, and hand-stitched countless tour shirts, whilst juggling other projects (Madison was the guitarist in DREAM DIARY, and currently works at the esteemed Memphis label GONER RECORDS, and plays guitar in the up-and-coming Memphis group TOXIE; Fiona spent most of last year travelling the globe with her group VIVIAN GIRLS, and is also currently the drummer for Ian Svenonius's new group CHAIN & THE GANG, as well as running M'lady's Records!) Long may they run.
SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR:
http://www.myspace.com/sugarsugarsugarmusic
Sugar Sugar Sugar is living proof that rock n roll will never die. High energy rock n roll dosed with equal parts sex and psychedelia with one focus: to bring back the rock! Formed in Bellingham, WA, Sugar Sugar Sugar have pushed garage rock out the door onto the streets with their punishing drums, fuzzed out bass, and raunchy guitar. With their life altering live set you will be transported to a time when guitar solos ride high over crashing drums, shelled shocked with a sea of sweat, big hair and stadium anthem worthy fuck yeahs!
ACORN BCORN:
http://acornbcorn.bandcamp.com/
Acorn Bcorn, the sister duo—Marina and Leann Cornelius—formed from the ashes of The Beta Sweat. The siblings trade off on guitar, bass and drums, with Marina handling the vocals, and the duo specializes in a brand of riot grrrl-inspired, skeletal punky blues. Part of the fun of seeing Acorn Bcorn is seeing the division of labor between the two—for example, Marina might play guitar, sing and keep a drumbeat simultaneously, while Leeann plays the bass and takes over percussion when Marina is too busy to do so.
THE SHIVAS:

THE MALLARD:
http://soundcloud.com/the-mallard
The Mallard are a garage psych-rock trio from San Francisco. Their songs harness the naked abandon of 60's punk, but inject the form with a deranged spirit all their own. Close attention to texture and dynamics allow the band to explore unusual terrain – to grant access into unexpected realms of beauty and terror. . .
REYNOSA
http://reynosa.tumblr.com/
Reynosa' is a band from Portland, Oregon made up of Ana Margarita Briseno, Fabiola Reyna, and Brisa de la Selva. Reynosa began as a way for ana and fabi to express and explore music and other traditions from their latin american roots. Among other things, they enjoy tacos, girls, and tequila.
CITYMEN:
DEEP TIME (aka YellowFever)
