Half of the program will feature music directly related to AIDS -- works by composers who currently live with or have died of AIDS, as well as works based on the subject of AIDS. The other half will consist of late works by Franz Schubert, a 19th century composer whose battle and premature death due to syphilis closely resembles the experiences of composers affected by AIDS.
