Support Rally for Don's Trial

NEWS AS OF JUNE 1: Don's courtroom struggles have ended. Don plead "no contest" to a misdemeanor in exchange for all other charges being dropped. He was given credit for time served. Don is appreciative of the supporters he has had throughout this time.

NEWS AS OF MAY 4: Don just texted me that his court date for his trial readiness hearing is now set to June 4th, at 9am in room 208.

NEWS AS OF APRIL 27: Thanks to all the supporters who came out early this morning. 11 folks were with Don in the courtroom, and about another 10 were outside with signs, livestream, and a drum. June 8 will be another 9am trial readiness hearing, with the expected trial date of June 11. Don would again appreciate your support on those days.

NEWS AS OF APRIL 15: Don's trial date will be set at 9am on Friday, the 27th. Don would like folks who are rallying to support him to show up there at 8am. At this appearance his trial date will be set, possibly for a date as soon as Monday, the 30th.

Don is one of the few people arrested at an Occupy Portland event being charged with a felony. He insists he is innocent and that witnesses will support his claim. He wants a trial. He was arrested after the march in solidarity with Oakland, on November 2nd.

Don would appreciate community support. Please come if you can to a rally outside the courthouse to stand in solidarity and support for Don.

Don's trial starts at 9am, but it would be good to have a few people who can be quiet and respectful enter the courthouse and be present as supporters inside the court room. It is important that these people not be loud or carry signs, as they could negatively impact Don's situation.

Also, since the trial is set to start at 9am, it would be great to have people with signs outside supporting Don from 8:00am on.

If people can make and bring their own signs, that would be great. Feel free to use this event's wall space to share good sign slogans or to self-organize a sign-making party.

NEWS AS OF APRIL 2: Thanks to all of Don's supporters who came out today! Don's next court date to set a trial date is Friday, April 6th, so supporters would again be welcome and appreciated.
