About Learning Man:
Why:
Regardless of one's personal beliefs, it is blatantly obvious that there is something wrong with the global system that is currently in place. The established structure is unbalanced and unsustainable: It causes constant division among all of the citizens of Earth. It enables some to support themselves entirely off of the incomprehensible hard work and suffering of others. It removes people from our ability to provide the basic necessities for life, such as healthy food, clean air, clean water, shelter from the elements, happiness. It also seeks to prohibit free thought, cooperative living, individualism and honesty. The time for change is now.
What:
Learning Man Festival is a fully cooperative, interactive, outdoor event, intended to provide a healthy, sustainable environment in which people can exchange knowledge of the survival and thrival skills necessary to create progress that is beneficial for *all* involved. Learning Man is not for profit. There is no paid staff. All money made at the Festival goes back into the Festival. It is a goal to inspire Learning Man Festivals to bloom all over the globe!
Who:
You! While it is true that there is a small, dedicated group of your fellow super heroes orchestrating this first event, Learning Man is of, by and for the people. Literally.
Where:
28 acres of lush, green Earth, bordered to the South by the Colorado river and located a mere 5 miles East of Downtown Austin, will be the home of the World's first Learning Man Festival.
