Join us for a conversation on peerfunding and how grassroots projects like W2 can raise funds through our networks. By connecting with our networks of supporters, we are able to raise funds and be economically independent. Last year W2 was 93% self-funded.
W2 will be hosting StartSomeGood.com’s co-founder, Tom Dawkins, for this workshop about how to leverage peerfunding platforms for social good initiatives. The workshop is a general introduction to peerfunding/crowdfunding and explains the differences between popular sites and what you need to know to succeed in this new form of fundraising. With more than half of all ventures failing to reach their goals on the leading peerfunding sites we want to dispel misconceptions and share the keys to success on platforms like StartSomeGood.
During the presentation, W2 will share some of its own crowdfunding aspirations and strategies for some urgently needed fundraising to keep the doors open. We are also launching short-term campaigns for three distinct programs that need to get boosted: 1) our inner-city letterpress studio (2) W2 Radio equipment (3) community access TV studio equipment.
The workshop will be followed by a Q & A, collective brainstorming, and a meet and greet. Some light snacks and refreshments provided.
