UPDATE
Below are more details about the next Amsterdam UX Cocktail Hour (including new start time and more tickets!), which will happen on the evening of Thursday, March 15. The event is hosted by Wieden+Kennedy (http://www.wk.com, Herengracht 258) and features 4 short presentations by a range of UX practitioners. The theme is Variety and the aim is to showcase the breadth of the UX practice.
The program will be roughly as follows:
18:30 - doors open, drinks & snacks provided
18:45 - Peter says "Welcome" and announces events and job openings
18:55 - Richard Oldfield welcomes you on behalf of Wieden+Kennedy
19:00 - 1: Geke van Dijk from STBY (http://stby.eu) on a Design Research project for a large phone manufacturer on international messaging
19:15 - 2: Jeroen van der Heijden from valsplat (http://valsplat.nl) on insights from observing people at smelly fastfood restaurants and outside ticket machines
19:30 - break with drinks & snacks
20:00 - 3: Jeroen Coumans from Hyves (http://hyves.nl) on design in an agile, social media company that was acquired by a traditional dutch newspaper
20:15 - 4: Matt Cottam from Tellart (http://tellart.com) on Physical Prototyping
20:35 - Lessons learned: a quick whiteboard session on what you saw that was noteworthy
20:45 - more drinks & snacks
21:30 - doors close
As you can see, after the presentations, we plan to have a brief discussion about what you thought was interesting. Let's all share what we learned. Don't be shy!
Drinks & snacks will be provided as usual, and there will be time before, in-between, and after the presentations to network, socialize and gossip with your fellow UX community members, as well as with representatives from W+K and her clients.
The event will be the biggest Amsterdam UX Cocktail Hour ever with room for 100 people (some reserved for W+K and guests). Last week we released the first 50 tickets, which were gone in under 24 hours. With this update, 20 more people will be now allowed to claim a ticket for the event, starting with the people on the waiting list. We may be able to release a few more later today or early tomorrow morning, so if you think can make it, put your name on the waiting list. Also, if you must change your RSVP, please do so as soon as possible.
I hope to see many friendly faces on Thursday!
