How does censorship in China influence the image of China that we get from the media? How much freedom do Western journalists get, and how free are their Chinese colleagues? With what kind of restrictons are Chinese citizens faced when they search for news on the internet? Can they access Twitter and Facebook? This and more will be addressed by Garrie van Pinxteren, former China-correspondent for the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad and for NOS News, the Dutch National Broadcasting Corporation. At present, she is a senior research fellow at Clingendael, Holland's most renowned think-tank in the field of international relations.
