SUMMARY:&quot\;The Founder&#039\;s Dilemmas&quot\; Book Launch Event
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to celebrate the publication of Professor Noam
 Wasserman&#039\;s new book\, The Founder&#039\;s Dilemmas\, the
first book to examine in depth the early decisions by
entrepreneurs that can make or break a startup and its team. The
Book Launch Event will have two parts: 5:00-6:00PM: Founder
Insights Workshop led by Prof. Wasserman - Spangler Auditorium
6:00-7:30PM: Book Launch Reception - Williams Room (Spangler
Center 1st Floor) Noam will lead a workshop session from
5:00-6:00 featuring the stories and quantitative research at the
core of his award-winning HBS course and new book. The workshop
will be followed by a reception in the Williams Room. Both events
are open to all. Publisher&#039\;s Weekly calls The
Founder&#039\;s Dilemmas a &quot\;seminal work.... Sure to be
required reading in business school curricula\, this illuminating
and captivating read will also appeal to aspiring entrepreneurs
or founders who want to make better decisions in existing
ventures.&quot\; The Founder&#039\;s Dilemmas: Anticipating and
Avoiding the Pitfalls That Can Sink a Startup\, will be published
in March by Princeton University Press.  Both The Founder’s
Dilemmas (the book) and Founders’ Dilemmas (the course) provide
a roadmap for founders about the most common pitfalls they will
face.  The book and course integrate Noam’s research results\,
quantitative data collected over the last decade from 10\,000
founders\, case studies\, and conceptual frameworks.  Since
2000\, he has been the lead researcher on the annual CompStudy
survey of technology and life-sciences startups\, which has
become the most comprehensive survey of compensation for top
management at private companies in the U.S. (and is now expanding
to include China\, India\, Israel\, and England).  Noam is one
of three members of the core faculty of the Kauffman
Foundation’s Global Scholars program\, and he has delivered
numerous keynote addresses to meetings of the Young Presidents
Organization (YPO)\, venture capital retreats\, entrepreneurship
conferences\, and other groups.   There is paid parking
available in the HBS lot\, and some street parking available
 nearby.\n
