In observance of this INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, we'll join the collective efforts initiated by Occupy activists, particularly the women-led campaigns of Women Occupy, Public Citizen and Rainforest Action Network, to hold Bank of America – the biggest of the big banks – accountable for the predatory economic policies that are destroying our families and communities.

Gather at the Inwood Station parking lot at 11 a.m. to "get it together" for a street-theater march to Bank of America, 5636 Lemon Ave. Join the PINK POSSE to "arrest" Bank of America and say: BUST THE BANKSTERS! BUST UP THE BIG BANKS! (Even the Dallas Fed. Chair says too-big-to-fail banks should be broken up!) If you can, wear pink (black pants and a pink top if you think you might want to be deputized). Let's bust out & bust up the banks!
WHY?
--Women have long been the prime targets of predatory bank policies and economic collapse: women are 32 percent more likely than men to receive sub‑prime mortgages and Latina and African-American women borrowers are most likely to receive sub‑prime loans at every income level.
--Women make up 51% of the world’s population but 70% of the world’s poor. We perform 66% of the world’s work, produce 50% of the food, but earn 10% of the income and own less than 1% of the world’s property.
--Our work continues to be unpaid, underpaid and undervalued, making us invisible to economic indicators and ineligible for the rewards reaped by the most “productive” members of society.
--It’s time we turned the tables and started going after the big banks! And what better suspect than the biggest of the big banks – Bank of America?
--Bank of America not only leads the pack in illegal foreclosure practices, faulty loans, and tax evasion, it also pillages its customers with exorbitant fees and denies them their right to free speech! Plus, as the official bank of the US military, BofA has been accused of improperly foreclosing on active-duty troops.

Since we're in Texas and in observance of Int'l Women's Day, we have several "PINK POSSE" outfits that women will be wearing. They'll have black pants & shoes or boots, pink shirts, sunglasses, and pink cowgirl hats. We have some handcuffs. ;o)
DEPUTIES: If you'd like to be "deputized," wear black pants and pink (or ...if that's not possible, white) collared shirt and cowboy/cowgirl hat & "shades." We'll have some accessories.
BANKERS: We have one black & white striped prison uniform that someone can wear (or take turns) with a placard around their neck that says, "Bank of America." We have a portable "jail" for prisoners. If people want to dress up as bankers (dark suits, pin-stripes good, top hats, etc.) they can be "arrested" by the Posse.
BANDITS: Also eligible for "arrest" by the Posse. Wear all black, and black or dark cowboy/cowgirl hat. We'll have pink bandanas.
TOWNSPEOPLE: Come dressed (in as much pink as possible, and busty if you'd like to go with the theme) as townspeople, demanding the banksters be held accountable. We'll have some pink t-shirts saying "BUST the BANKSTERS," etc., like the one in the photo here, top right, or make your own.
OR: Just come as you are and march with us. No costume required.
