Hey kids!
It's that time again.. I've already begun training and am ready to blow last year's record out of the water, literally. I was the number one fundraiser last year and with your help, I fully intend to keep my title. Mama needs a new one-piece!
With the help of some very generous over-achieving friends I have a head start on fundraising and am already over $1,000. Special thanks to:

As many of you already know, I have been teaching swimming to mentally and physically disabled kids at a program called Project HAPPY every Saturday for the past 5 years and we are having our second annual Swim – a– Thon on Saturday, March 24th from 10am – 3pm at Hunter College 425 East 25th St at 1st Ave.. and I WILL BE SWIMMING. This is a very rare opportunity, not only to see me in a one-piece bathing suit but to see our programs in action, classes will continue as normal, bleachers will be open for spectators and we will reserve 2 lanes for lap swimmers.
Here is the deal: Last year I raised over $4,000 so for every $1,000 I raise I will swim 10 laps so our goal is at least $4,000 which would mean I am swimming 40 LAPS. (gulp)
This is no joke: the Columbia men’s swim team will be there (in their Speedos) counting my laps and keeping me honest. Every cent you donate will go directly to Project Happy which runs almost entirely on private donations and volunteers. It’s one of the most incredible programs I have ever been privileged to be a part of and I encourage everyone to come out not only to cheer me on and potentially fish me out of the pool after my swim but to see the program first hand.
To donate: I will be taking donations by hand. In the interest of time please feel free to make a pledge over email and send a check through the mail. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a credit letter after the event.
Please make all checks out to:

Project HAPPY's mission is to promote the well-being of New York City's children, youth and young adults with disabilities by providing them with individual and team sports and recreational activities. In doing so, we aim to impart improved physical health, social skills, and self-confidence in those who are often marginalized as a result of their impairments. Additionally, we strive to advocate for, and provide awareness of, the needs of urban children, youth and young adults who have disabilities.
