www.FANDANGO.com so that we sell out - this event is 100% charity (www.jen-npo.org) so let's make sure the Tohoku victims feel our love and support!
March 2012 is the 1-year anniversary of Japan's 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku - and we pay tribute to the victims and volunteers who stood up and fought to overcome their pain, their loss and the many obstacles.
The documentary is a full feature film (90 minutes) and was directed & produced by TOKYOPOP founder Stu Levy who volunteered in Tohoku exactly one-year ago, on March 14, 2011, just 3 days after the earthquake. He made this film as a purely charitable endeavor and the goodness of his heart, shooting over 6 weeks in Ishinomaki on the coast of Miyagi in Tohoku, while he volunteered with the amazing heroes that inspired him.
There is a special opening animation from Hiroshi Nagahama (director of Mushi-shi & Detroit Metal City, opening song from Okuda Tamio, poetry from Fukushima award-winning poet Ryoichi Wago, which is ready by A-list actress Kyoka Suzuki. And beautiful songs by M's Japan Orchestra, a Tohoku-based Taiko group, and a stunning original score by musician Shinya Mizoguchi.
The entire project was made by professionals and students who all volunteered their time as did Stu - in Japan and in the States.
Please come out and support this project - we need you to show how much we care about Japan and what the people have been through. Let's pay tribute!
