The People of Detroit Photodocumentary in partnership with The Detroit Works Project Long Term Planning organization [http://detroitworksproject.com/] invite you to the very first public exhibition of 12 prints from the celebrated portraiture project! The event is free and open to the public.
The mission of The People of Detroit is to use vivid portraiture accompanied by earnest, engaging essays to reform the popular notion of what it means to live in Detroit.
By doing so, TPOD exists to stimulate Detroit-directed investment, retain and attract residency, and serve as a counterbalance to national and global media coverage fixated on despair and disrepair in the storied city.
This exhibition marks a milestone in this ongoing campaign. I'm excited about this exhibition and I hope to see you all there!
