SUMMARY:BUILD Project and Business Planning Classes
DESCRIPTION:D:hive\, a front door for living\, working and engaging in \n
Detroit is actively seeking individuals interested in taking \n
their ideas to action through the 8-week BUILD curriculum. \n
 \n
D:hive is pleased to announce its third round of BUILD project \n
and business planning classes set to begin Tuesday March 20 at \n
6:00 p.m. and continue for eight weeks. Each class is three
hours long and requires an equal amount of out of class time per
week. Learning from a nationally recognized curriculum but
constructed specifically for Detroit\, BUILD targets
 sustainability\, durability\, scale \n
and potential replication for prospective social\, cultural and
 \n
 economic entrepreneurs. \n
 \n
BUILD is modeled on successful programs in Asheville\, NC\, \n
Chattanooga\, TN and Cincinnati\, OH that in total have graduated
over 2\,000 individuals\, representing a wide variety of projects
and creative enterprises ranging from plumbers and painters to
 artists and architects. \n
 \n
The D:hive BUILD class is for those who have an idea for a \n
program\, project or business that they believe will benefit the
 \n
residents of Detroit. In eight weeks\, participants will take
 their \n
ideas to a plan and be matched with other community resources \n
that may help them further that plan. Knowing hundreds of \n
people who have graduated from similar programs in other \n
cities\, I&#039\;m excited to see what emerges from the minds of
 both \n
lifelong and new Detroit residents\, says Josh McManus\, who
 taught the first class.\n
 \n
Space is limited for the first round of BUILD classes. \n
Interested entrepreneurs are advised to pre-register for the \n
 class here:
