Women in Design & Technology-Part 2 The Future of Fashion: Trendsetting in the High-Tech Age General Assembly + Damsels in Design Tuesday, April 10th from 7:00 - 9:30 pm Complimentary beer and wine will be served Join Damsels in Design, a professional networking organization for women in design, for their conversation series celebrating women entrepreneurs that have made great strides in the design and technology arenas. The three-part series continues with our design component, "The Future of Fashion: Trendsetting the High-Tech Age", a discussion with Mariah Chase, President and Co-founder of Send The Trend. Julia Lovallo, a member of Damsels in Design and Co-Founder of 4eCreative, a design, branding, communications and marketing company, will moderate the conversation. The event will address exciting advancements in the fashion industry including the flash sale revolution and e-commerce start-up boom. Learn what opportunities exist for new entrepreneurs, fashion retailers, designers, and consumers as we explore the technologies and social media outlets that "disrupt fashion" in a good way! What challenges do fashion retailers face today and how have they adapted to new technologies? Are the barriers to entry still the same for designers and suppliers? What are Chase's secrets to success and advice for designers and entrepreneurs entering the Fashion industry? Chase will address these questions and give many personal and professional anecdotes for excelling in the design industry. Prior to co-founding Send the Trend with Divya Gugnani and Christian Siriano, Chase was most recently the President of Kara Ross New York, a luxury brand known for its unique fine jewelry and exotic skin accessories. She has worked with a myriad of accessories companies in senior marketing and branding roles, setting trends for Jimmy Choo, David Yurman, and Cole Haan among many others. Can't make it? Sign up at
