Â
Monan's Rill is a beautiful 400 acre, fully-featured community with a variety of private homes, a yurt, a common house, workshops, renewable energy systems, roads, barns; gardens, orchards, fields, forests, and ponds. It was started in the 1970s by a group of peace and justice activists, including the founder of KPFA/Pacifica Radio. Today 18 members of different ages and backgrounds live here cooperatively, just 12 miles from downtown Santa Rosa on the way to St. Helena!
Hosts include EBCOHO member Joan Linney. Joan is actively looking for 3 friendly, tidy, eco-caring housemates to share a 4BR house with her. This is a great way to see if it might work for you and hear how to become part of the community as well. We'll walk and talk with Joan, learn about the land, share lunch and house-sharing experiences indoors and under the oak trees. You will learn how this cooperative community works, the process of how people become owner/members (including financing options that have worked in the past), and find out about this unique opportunity for a shared house rental.
Monan's Rill has sunny sloping and wooded hillsides with gravel roads and dirt trails. Make sure you're comfortable walking. Wear good walking shoes; it can be muddy if there's been rain.
Monan's Rill is hosting our (Cohousing California) June Facilitation Training Intensive and is planning a regional communities gathering June 9 - check the calendar for more information on that event.
