SUMMARY:Files/Desks/Chairs\, WORK RELATED\, and SOFA @ Rosewood
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for three events this April. Two exhibitions and
a night of sound curated by Sterling Allen\, Katie Geha and
 Travis Kent.\n
 \n
 1) FILES\, DESKS\, CHAIRS\n
 \n
 1100 E 5th Street (former TOPS warehouse)/Opening Reception
 Thursday\, April 19th\, 7-10pm\n
 \n
This exhibition takes TOPS\, a former office supply warehouse\,
as its organizing principle. Featuring a varied grouping of
artists from Texas and New York\, this show demonstrates ideas
related to but not limited by: abstraction\, materiality\, text\,
 color\, space\, perception\, and scale.\n
 \n
Artists in the exhibition include: Patrick Arnold (NY)\; Megan
Carney (TX)\; Mark Flood (TX)\; Rachel Hecker (TX)\; Christian
 Heidsieck (TX)\; Dani Leventhal (NY)\; Justin Lieberman (NY)\;
Ian Pedigo (NY)\; Michael Bell Smith (NY). \n
 \n
Exhibition open during Fusebox events. \n
 \n
 \n
 \n
 2) WORK RELATED II\n
 \n
 1100 E 5th Street (former TOPS warehouse)/Music Demonstration
 Saturday\, April 21st\, 8-11pm\n
 \n
 Artists include: Hubble (NY)\; Paradise (TX)\; Rene Hell (OR)\;
 White Dog (TX\, NY\, LA).\n
 \n
WORK RELATED is an evolving series that promotes experimental
sound and language. In an intimate and open environment\, we
suggest possibilities of correspondence through the grouping of
disparate approaches to performance. WORK RELATED creates a space
 to investigate catharsis\, duration\, repetition\, exhaustion\,
 awkwardness\, simplicity\, complexity\, and ascension.\n
 \n
 \n
 \n
 3) MAX WARSH &amp\; VANESA ZENDEJAS\n
 \n
SOFA at Rosewood/1319 Rosewood Avenue/Opening Reception April
 27th\, 7-10pm \n
 \n
This exhibition pairs the photographs and collages of New York
artist Max Warsh with the sculptures of LA artist Vanesa Zendejas
to investigate abstraction and built spaces. Creating
compositions from pictures of bricks\, tiles or cast
ornamentation found on building facades\, Warsh’s works utilize
the repetitive visual language of mechanized processes to create
optically charged images. Zendejas&#039\; sculptures\, formally
 constrained\, and often abstract\, relate to patterning\, color\,
and the relationship between positive and negative space.\n
 \n
