On March 31, 27 days after his 2012 Copper Canyon Ultramarathon, Caballo Blanco was found on lying peacefully on the trail, resting from his final run in the world we know.
Caballo Blanco's (Micah True) life was a true inspiration to everyone who knew about him. He pursued his dream and did what he loved most.
We would like to honor Caballo's memory by hosting a small memorial run here in Austin. The run is for all levels/ages and will be very short (about 1 mile). We will run/hike together to a quiet spot on a cliff, overlooking the Hill Country, watch the sunset and say some words in his honor. This will not be a time for mourning, but a time to celebrate his life and continuing inspiration.
This memorial is for everyone, for anyone who was inspired, or knows someone who was inspired by him.
The memorial will take place this Tuesday, April 1 at 6:30pm. We will begin the run/hike at St. Edwards Park parking lot (off of Spicewood Springs). If you are not familiar with this trail, bring appropriate footwear for rocky trail. there is one water crossing and you may get your feet wet.
A direct Google Map Link to the parking lot is below. An easy way to get there is to head south on Hwy 360 from Hwy183 for about 1.5-2 miles (near Arboretum), then take a right no Spicewood Springs Rd. After about 3 miles on Spicewood Springs Rd, you will see a parking lot on your left.
