In 2011, legislators supported a voter ID bill that eliminated the eligibility of college IDs, passports, and military IDs for at the polls.
A photo ID constitutional amendment would curb or eliminate same day registration options, like vouching. In 2008, 1 in 5 voters used Election Day Registration.
Minnesota has the highest voter turnout in the country. Our election system has been tested in two high profile recounts. The photo ID movement is part of a national trend.
