WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES (R) Akron is presented by ZAR Nightclub & Martini Bar with Gold Shoe Sponsor White Hat Management. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an international event that raises awareness of rape, sexual assault, and gender violence. Statistics show that 1 in 3 females and 1 in 6 males will be affected by sexual violence in their lifetime. During the event, men and women both demonstrate solidarity with the experiences of victims by wearing high heeled shoes and marching for awareness - literally, "walking a mile in her shoes." Participants form teams to walk together and to raise funds for the Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties. All are encouraged to wear high heels but anyone can walk! Prizes will be given to the top fundraisers (teams) and also for footwear. To sign up to walk or ask about sponsorship opportunities, contact Getta Cornici at GettaC@scmcbws.org or 330-777-4723.

HOW TO BEGIN:
Step 1: Become a team captain and decide who will be on your team: coworkers, friends, family. The possibilities are endless!
Step 2: Email Getta Cornici at GettaC@scmcbws.org to register and to let her know you are participating and your team name.
Step 3: Get people to sponsor you and your team and compete to be the champion fundraising team for the Rape Crisis Center of Summit and Medina Counties!
