Female founded startups can contribute to the rebuilding of our economy. Forget changing corporate cultures and instead set out to change the world through your own business. As the world becomes “smaller” and “flatter” we have a tremendous opportunity to transform and improve the way business works. In 2011, there was an estimated 8.1 million women-owned businesses generating $1.3 trillion in revenues and employing nearly 7.7 million people. Still, venture backed women-led companies represent less than 10% of venture funding.
