The Chicago Cinema Society presents a 35mm Kung Fu Double Feature you positively can't miss!

First up-1980's FIST OF THE WHITE LOTUS. The directorial debut of martial arts cinema icon LO LIEH, FIST OF THE WHITE LOTUS stars three of the most legendary Kung Fu forces in the history of cinema: GORDON LIU, LUNG WEI WANG, and Lo Lieh himself as the villainous Priest White Lotus. Witness Acupuncture style, Embroidery style, and more exotic Kung Fu styles in glorious 35mm!

Our second feature needs no introduction- the famous and highly sought-after 1976 MASTER OF THE FLYING GUILLOTINE, presented on ultra-rare 35mm. This masterpiece of Kung Fu cinema is rarely screened in America, and this is a (no joke) once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see it in 35mm June 1st at the Portage!

Hollywood Theatre (Portland, OR) programmer and archive director of the 35mm Shaolin Archive DAN HALSTED will be in attendance to discuss their collection, preservation efforts and increasing cultural awareness of Kung Fu cinema in America. Plus, between our two features we will be featuring martial arts demonstrations from local Wushu schools (TBA).
