The art exhibition "100 YEARS", featuring work by JIANG Qigu | KUO Cheng-Yung | WANG Frank Yefeng opens on Friday, April 6, with a reception from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
In conjunction with the 17th Annual Asian American Showcase at the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Foundation for Asian American Independent Media (FAAIM) is proud to be part of the Chicago Chinatown Centennial Celebration in presenting the three-person exhibit “100 Years” featuring Wang Frank Yefeng, Cheng-Yung Kuo, and noted painter and SAIC faculty Qigu Jiang.
These three local Chinese artists representing three generations of immigration into the United States will collaborate to explore their connection to, ideas about, and reactions to this neighborhood within the past century and as it continues to evolve. Their project will strive to combine their own different approaches, processes, and aesthetics from traditional ink brush painting to digital media that forms the outline of a mythical dragon from the collective body of their own individual work stretched out across the length of the gallery cafe wall.
