Talk 1 - The one developer dev shop

It feels like all you ever hear about is "the cloud" is changing the way startups are built. This presentation talks about how various cloud services can allow you build a product through launch and beyond with only one developer, the pros and cons of doing so, and how to transition to a growing development team.

Gennady Borukhovich is the CTO & Co-Founder of Intuary Inc., the company behind FarFaria, a subscription service for children's stories on the iPad. He is also the organizer of the NYC Extreme Programming & Agile meet up. Prior to Intuary, Gennady held technology and leadership positions at McGraw Hill, Tallan Inc., and Lockheed Martin.

Talk 2 - Topic Workshops

Instead of having a formal speaker, we will do several mini-workshops on several topics.  We will split up into several groups, based on a particular topic, with facilitators for each group.   Each group will bring up some issues challenges that some of the people are interested in, and discuss it for 15-20 minutes.   Every 20 minutes a new topic will be picked, and new groups are formed.

Topics to be decided / voted on, some of the ones being considered are (we will probably end up doing three topics):

By Stack - Ruby, LAMP, .NET, Java, Python

By Industry - eCommerce, AdTech, Analytics, Content

Process - Lean, Agile, QA, UX, Product

Managerial - Managing, Hiring, Motivating, Networking

Size-based challenges - Army of One, Scaling, Big Data
