If you don't already know, California State Parks (along with the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission) is the entity behind the Lagoon Project.

City Council is voting on whether or not to begin legal proceedings against the California State Parks for not doing what it should have to protect the City of Malibu from the negative fallouts of the project.

Of course, you can always send it even if you are going!

Dear City Council Member,

Due to my work schedule, I will not be able to attend the City Council Meeting this Monday, April 9, 2012.

I am sending this to ask you to vote in favor of spending $50,000 for the purposes of commencing legal proceedings against the California State Parks._

I am aware that the Parks has not fulfilled their due diligence in protecting the City of Malibu from the negative outfalls of the Malibu Lagoon Restoration and Enhancement Project.

At the City Council Meeting this Monday, April 9 ,2012, Item 7.E. requests that the Mayor direct the City attorney to file an amicus brief regarding the opposition of the project, which I also encourage you to vote in favor of.

I look forward to seeing how you decide to proceed on this matter.
