ARE YOU READY LOS ANGELES?
The Grand Ole Echo 2012 season kicks off on April 15th!
The April- September Americana music event celebrates its 7th year running
Los Angeles, CA March 20, 2012—The Grand Ole Echo, a collaboration between The Echo booker, Liz Garo and roots music enthusiast, Kim Grant, kicks off it’s free/all ages Sunday music series on April 15th with a showcase that includes Old Californio, Nearly Beloved, Jeremy Little and Walter Spencer & Friends, plus the just added traditional bluegrass of Fair Market Band. And stay tuned for returning bands Triple Chicken Foot, Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), Susan James, Dave Insley, I See Hawks in LA and lots of new acts. We’ve got Southern California covered and usually have a few guests from Austin and Nashville!
Taking place at The Echo which is situated in the heart of the Echo Park neighborhood, the event draws its audience from the neighborhood, music enthusiasts, and people looking to hear live music with their families. The event begins at 5:30 pm every Sunday and continues to 9pm with 3 acts on the main stage and acoustic performances on the back patio. There is a full bar and a menu for Two Boots Pizza.
This year, joining Kim Grant in hosting/curating duties on the main stage is Matt Farber, Editor for the online roots music magazine
www.southlandserenade.com. Curating the acoustic back porch will be stalwart Bluegrass musicians, Walter Spencer and Cliff Wagner. DJ Cousin Roy returns, spinning great old classic country on the record player between acts. See some of the best country/roots bands in LA! Dance, drink and meet your pals old and new at the friendliest free shows in town.
